This class is great for leveling up your creative technique. Your instructor Jennifer will teach you how to throw on the wheel, how to trim your work with various tools, and how to apply glaze. The class will explore the ceramics process from start to finish.
Jennifer Cuaro is a cross-disciplinary artist with a background in materials science. Her work explores structure, texture, and transformation via curiosity about the physical properties of clay and an appreciation of her cultural heritage. As an instructor, she fosters an inclusive, engaged, and supportive learning environment. She encourages exploration and process-based learning, helping students build strong foundational skills while also supporting creative risk taking. She lives in the East Bay and teaches handbuilding and wheel throwing at multiple studios in the area.
The class meets on Monday afternoons from 1-4 PM for 6 weeks starting on May 11th. The class includes a 25 lb bag of clay, firing, and access to glaze materials. An additional 3 hours of open studio time per week is also included.
