Mary is a contemporary oil painter and ceramicist based in the East Bay. After working with clay on and off for many years. She pursued functional pottery more seriously in recent years, upon starting a career in art.
Mary has taken pottery courses at Santa Rosa Junior College, Richmond Art Center, Berkeley Art Studio, Studio One and was a member at the Berkeley Potter's Studio for several years. She has taken one glazing workshop with Maggie Boyd and recently a ceramic furniture workshop with Austin Coudriet.
Functional tableware is her primary focus, but she has also been developing new designs for interior decorative pieces through handbuilding. Mary has been enjoying recent work with colored clay and integrating nerikomi.
This class meets on Monday evenings from 6-9 PM starting on August 10th. It includes a 25 lb bag of clay.
