The class is taught over the course of 6 weeks by Emily Rasmussen, a multi-disciplinary artist working in wheel-thrown pottery as well as painting. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Emily took her first ceramics class at Mudworks years ago and never wanted to leave. She focuses on making functional pieces on the wheel and enjoys the meditative flow of carving textures into clay. When not working at the studio, she works as a sign painter and lettering artist - skills that come in handy when decorating and glazing her pottery.
This class is great way to expand on your wheel throwing and creative technique. Your instructor will teach you how to throw on the wheel, how to trim your work with various tools, and how to apply glaze. We will explore the ceramics process from start to finish.
This class meets on Monday evenings from 5-8 PM for 6 weeks starting on November 30th. The class includes a 25 lb bag of clay, free firing, and access to glaze materials. An additional 3 hours of open studio time per week is also included.

*This class is for adults only - ages 18 and up.
