The class is taught over the course of 6 weeks by Alyssa Burns, a multi-disciplinary artist working in wheel-thrown pottery as well as digital media. She is a video editor, so she appreciates that pottery allows her to use her hands and get away from screens.
This class is great way to expand on your wheel throwing and creative technique. Your instructor will teach you how to throw on the wheel, how to trim your work with various tools, and how to apply glaze. We will explore the ceramics process from start to finish.
This class meets on Monday mornings from 6-9 PM for 6 weeks starting on July 6th. The class includes a 25 lb bag of clay, free firing, and access to glaze materials. An additional 3 hours of open studio time per week is also included.
